Château Saint-Martin de la Garrigue
Located near the Mediterranean Sea in Montagnac, Château Saint-Martin-de-la-Garrigue has 63 hectares of vineyards surrounded by 110 hectares of pine woodland, garrigue scrubland and olive groves. The vines thrive on two distinct soil types: red sandy-gravel soils over sandstone, and brown calcareous soils over soft limestone.
Steeped in history, the estate is centred on a ninth-century Romanesque chapel and a Renaissance château, largely built in 1557, which has been remodelled and restored over the centuries.

Tasting notes: Robe pourpre, profonde et soutenue. Le nez est puissant avec des notes de pruneau confit, café, amandes grillées, caramel. Longueur et puissance, velouté des tanins, richesse et complexité des arômes de réglisse, d’écorce d’orange, de truffe, d’épices... À déguster entre 16 et 18°C. Pour apprécier la richesse aromatique de ce vin, il convient de l’aérer, en l’ouvrant à l’avance, ou mieux encore, en le carafant.
Food pairings: Ce vin est parfait sur viandes rouges en sauce, gibier, fromage fort. Cuisine traditionnelle et familiale de type méditerranéen.
