Mas de Janiny
In the late 1980s, Thierry, with his father’s support, decided to take over the family estate. His brother Pascal, a teacher at a business school, soon joined them. Mas de Janiny was born from this partnership, and the conversion to organic farming began immediately. Protecting the terroir, the environment and people’s health was central to their approach then, and remains so today.
The estate’s wines combine expertise passed down through generations with modern winemaking methods. The vineyards lie amid the garrigue on clay-limestone soils. Vineyard work and treatments follow nature’s rhythms, without herbicides, synthetic products or chemical fertilisers. Encouraging deep roots allows the vines to draw fully on their terroir. Here, yields are guided by the vines themselves: each produces only as much fruit as it can ripen fully, in balance with its natural surroundings.

Tasting notes: Doté d’une robe rubis et de reflets tuilés. Exprime au nez des arômes grillés et confits accompagnés de belles notes fraîches de cerise ainsi que des airs de garigue (thym, romarin,…). En bouche ce vin est structuré, élégant, soyeux et d’une grande complexité aromatique. Le boisage équilibre les tanins et donne des notes balsamiques. Le temps de garde est d’une dizaine d’années. Servir à 18°C.
Food pairings: Ce vin peut accompagner viande rouge grillée ou en sauce, agneau, fromage à pâte molle ou gibier en sauce.
